Definition:
This artwork was inspired by JPalmer’s personal encounter with a homeless individual in the south east residence of Washington DC. JPalmer: As I approached him to hand him a couple of dollars that would help his struggle, he thanked me; as I walked away he puts his fist to the sky to share the POWER that he still has over the current obstacle he is facing. The different events inside this portrait are of this indigent man listening to motivational music to help him cope with his current status and to inspire him to put away the hindrances that confine him in his present hardship. We each dream of soaring in the sky but yet sometimes we struggle with the demons inside of us that impede our daily progress. It is through our inspirational speeches and generous acts to others that we give them the motivation to survive.
